Since mid-17^th century, we’ve been enjoying this delicious treat. Although it lacks the health benefits of dark chocolate, milk chocolate is often appreciated for its simple sweetness.

Since it’s likely to melt in warm weather anyway, be proactive. Melt it down! Use it for fruit dip, ice cream topping, or drizzle on a savory snack (think: pretzels or popcorn).

 

 

 

Got a Chocolate Stain?

Hot weather makes chocolate messier than usual.

Cleaning Guru Bob Phillips, owner of Able Cleaning Service, shares how to remove chocolate stains:

1. Scrape away any hardened chocolate with a butter knife. Apply ice to melted chocolate to make it easier to wipe away.
2. If possible, hold the reverse side of the material under cold running tap water to flush out any particles.
3. Working from the stain’s outside edge toward the center, rub in detergent with a clean wet cloth.
4. Soak for about 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly; soap residue can attract soil.
5. If possible, run through the washing machine. Do not machine dry or iron until stain is completely gone or risk setting it permanently.
